![]() Today I had a great workout and I discuss it in the workout log of this post. It really got me thinking about simplicity though. Most people overcomplicate everything. They look at a workout routine and decide it isn't hard enough, so they make it "harder." The reality is that all they are doing is complicating things. Simplicity is the way to go. That's what High Intensity Training (H.I.T.) is all about. The workout you see in my workout log for today is a H.I.T. workout. I did one set of each exercise. As this was my first time through the workout, some of the weights are off as far as how many reps I can complete, but those will get dialed in over time. The fact is that the workout took very little time to complete, but was every bit as effective as any other workout I've ever done, probably more so! I was able to lift with intensity. I shortened the rest period down to up the intensity a little. I will also dial that in over time. Take your time and realize that simple doesn't mean easy. Complicated doesn't mean hard. Just consider the source of your information and the rest will fall in place. |

![]() ![]() This workout is the ultimate in simplicity. I know that some of you will review the log and think "Just one set?!?" but that's what makes it incredible. You work just as hard as you would with multiple sets, but you work the entire body each workout. The intensity was incredible and the DOMs set in quickly after the workout. The time it took to do the workout was around 45 minutes because I kept the rest period low. I truly enjoyed the workout. Thank you Carlos DeJesus! |
