M4:D88 (D388) Wonderful

What's on my mind today?

Today was a wonderful day.  I like rest days because I know that I am growing while resting.  I spent some time with my youngest daughter, Alyssa, working on her chess studies.  She really loves the game and pesters me for lessons on a daily basis. I think that daily lessons are far too much, so I just try to control her expectations.

She is very excited that she is now learning strategy.  It is wonderful to see her eyes light up as I explain things to her.  She enjoys the game and she enjoys her time with daddy.  Of course, it is a wonderful time for me because I get to spend it one on one with one of my beautiful children.

Today I realized just how thankful I am for my family.  I love them all very much.  This coming year my wife and I will be married for 20 years.  I've made alot of mistakes during that time and I'm amazed that she is still around.  I have learned from my mistakes and she and I are doing better than ever.  I am really looking forward to our 20th Anniversary in June 2009.

Today was a rest day.  I rested my body, but not my mind and that was ok with me.
